NPR: Music Headquarters in Philadelphia

OBJECTIVE: To design the headquarters for a non-profit organization of our choice in a historical building in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia.  I chose to design the headquarters of NPR Music.
Section emphasising the height of the towers, office of Bob Boilen, open work stations, and rooftop bar/stage
CONCEPT:  After thorough research and visiting an NPR member station in Philadelphia, I based my design on old school radio.  The focus of the design is three "radio towers", which penetrate through the skylights in the roof and host key spaces in the program.  These include three studio spaces, a listening lounge, a small breakout room, a staff lounge, and a statement staircase.

Development of towers to reflect the language of "old school" radio towers.  One is significantly taller to act as a beacon, which can be seen throughout the city and from the route 95 that runs behind the building.
